Reference Date
Access documents by any internal chronological references.
For documents that involve time intervals, such as the duration of appointments for various positions, the search is active for only the initial date of the period.
N.B. In the search functions, all dates are given according to the modern calendar. The original texts, however, were dated in ancient Florentine style ("ab incarnatione"), according to which the new year began on 25 March. On the index and documentary level, when there is a discrepancy between the two styles, both reckonings of the years are shown, ancient first and modern second, as, for example, "5 January 1417/8".
